About

First and foremost, I am interested in all that is interesting, I am an enthusiastic student of life, and have myself learned the majority of open-source technology from communities like this. First, and foremost, my main focus is that of economics/finance, more specifically investment finance. Although it sounds dull, I assure you, some of the most unbelievable stories seem to stem from the industry(I am not an advocate of the fraud, and believe that this fraud although entertaining/makes for a good story, is one of the major causes of casualty and turmoil in the economic climate, I believe in a lead-by-example ethic-based foundation in finance). No less, the vast field of economics being summed up in a few words as 'efficiently/allocating and managing scarce resources to ascertain optimal return/use,' it is only natural that I am a proponent of increasing/reaching optimal return from scarce resources by harnessing technology in captivating and interesting new ways when appropriate.

As a result, I have additionally been a student/enthusiast of programming in both school and personal-life, and am an enthusiast of the open-source community. Furthermore, I think that the principles of open-source are a pinnacle of success, and have resulted in creating some of the most powerful brands around(Apple, Red-Hat, IBM, Google etc...). The major proponents, Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, M. D. McIlroy, and J. F. Ossanna. Thus, it is in the 'open-source way' that I have began to try to give back using the various community platforms that have given me so much, and that is why this profile your reading exists right now. Furthermore, I believe the economics of the open-source world have yet to fully be discovered, and its potential power has yet to fully be seen. No less, although in school/academics I had more exposure to open-source technologies than most programs/curriculum's, seeing its implementation in the enterprise, investing in companies which create/use value-added/open-source software and technology. Many of the innovations that are often seen in Windows into the end-user(personal consumer) market, stem from many of the innovations and ideas in the open-source community.

But what really fuels my enthusiasm for the open-source world, from an economic/business-based perspective it is one that seeks to emphasize community-based idea-generation/innovation at every level. The single reason that the open-source world successfully do this is by harnessing technology and using it as an infrastructure with which people can contribute, semantically speaking creating that of a participatory democracy(which we as the US have yet to do), where every voice can be heard. Additionally, this why I see such value in open-source world. Its because of these things that have made, and will continue to make open-source technology be one of the single most influential forces in changing the business climate, and life with which we live today.
