I am the team contact for the Ubuntu DC LoCo and a host of the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Learning Club. In particular, my focus has been in helping non-technical, traditionally underserved individuals and communities become aware of the benefits of FOSS -- particularly in the education arena. To this end, we have distributed CDs and information for the past several years at the Takoma Park Folk Festival], the Federal Office Systems Expo (FOSE), the DC government's Community Broadband Summits, and other venues. I have also volunteered in the Open Source Pavilion at the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) a couple of times.
