My laptop has the RTL8188ee WiFi card. The wifi disconnects sometimes like out of the blue. The only way to start it again is to restart the laptop. I have installed Ubuntu 17.10 alongside Windows 10(Fall creators update) and I see this problem on both of them. I read somewhere that this problem exists because the drivers are not updated and/or not supported by the kernel(which is again due to not having updated drivers)

Is there a way to fix this problem? Please let me know.

I found this solution but I'm not sure if this will solve the problem. The only reason that makes me want to consider and try this solution is the fact that he has updated the drivers for the latest version of Ubuntu(17.10). I mostly use Ubuntu for work and Windows for steam so even if the solution works only on Ubuntu I can live with it. It is very annoying to have to restart your laptop several times just to have uninterrupted WiFi
