When you say "lag" do you mean input lag, low framerates, or network lag? – FrostedCookies Nov 22 '17 at 1:13
  • my network connection is good I think it's a fps drop lag – Daniel.V Nov 22 '17 at 8:47

If you have a compositor activated, disable it when play. The composing system will cause a lot of "lag", while playing, but the reason is the resource consuption of the composer. Also, I recommend you to install a lightweight desktop like LXDE to have better performance. However, if still want to use Gnome, try to use a lightweight desktop theme, this could contribute a little. Also, disable VSync.

In the game:

  • Reduce the render quality in game.
  • Disable the Steam overlay.
  • Go to Settings, Options, To Advanced options, and select I have a Low-end Network.
