I have 2 interfaces on my maas node. wlan0 and eth0. However, maas always forces the ip the root DNS (maas.) to be the ip of wlan0.

wlan0 is the default gateway and eth0 is the gateway for my private network which all the maas nodes reside on.

Network Map:

(eth0) MAAS [10.111.0.1] -> MAAS Nodes [10.111.0.0/24]
(wlan0) Default Gateway [10.2.0.17] -> Internet Route

maas. is always configured to be 10.2.0.17

I have tried:

  • Reconfiguring maas-dns maas-rack-controller maas-region-controller
  • Manually editing the A record

However when I restart MAAS, it always reverts to using wlan0's ip as the root domain ip for maas.

Some have suggested that this is because wlan0's ip is the default gateway.

However, I don't think i can or should change this. eth0 is a seperate broadcast domain and it needs to stay that way. I can't make it the default gateway or it will break my network.
