This question already has an answer here:

So I've got a bit of an issue trying to get qBittorrent to start on boot. I'm running 16.04.

I've tried to start it by using a crontab @reboot, but this unfortunately didn't work. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

  • Could you provide details of the crontab you tried? – edwinksl Aug 22 '17 at 17:09
  • Why do you want to use cron for this? How about the autostart function of your desktop environment, e. g. gnome-session-properties? – dessert Aug 22 '17 at 17:14

All you need do is to press the "Super" key on the Keyboard and search for "Startup Applications"

Click on "Startup Application Icon"

Click on the "add" button click on "add" button

Fill the simple startup program form indicating the explicit path of the qBittorrent application (just the way you run it from terminal)filled form

Thats all..
