Correct setting ant_sel parameter to 1 as below worked,

echo "options rtl8723be ant_sel=1"  | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf
  • I guess ant_sel value depends on WIFI hardware , ant_sel=2 didn't work for me. – vishwanath patil Aug 15 '17 at 17:31

    You will also have much better luck with WPA2-AES and not TKIP. – chili555 Aug 15 '17 at 19:07
