I am running ubuntu 16.04 on a dell inspiron touch screen module. Wheever I type my touchpad jumps. I have tried an array of guides on this forum but nothing worked well for me.

I have a Dell XPS 13 laptop and was having the same issue with Ubuntu 16.04, I installed Touchpad Indicator which allows you to disable the touchpad while typing and other tweaks.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao

sudo apt update

sudo apt install touchpad-indicator
