I have a problem installing lsb-core on Ubuntu 16.04 and it is similar to this post. However, the error text is different.

# apt-get install lsb-core
Reading package lists... Done

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
lsb-core : Depends: at but it is not installable
Depends: m4 but it is not installable
Depends: mailx but it is not installable or
mailutils but it is not installable
Depends: ncurses-term but it is not installable
Depends: pax but it is not installable
Depends: alien (>= 8.36) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: zlib1g:i386 but it is not installable or
lib32z1 but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

The command apt-get update has been run already. It seems that lsb-core requires some i386 (32 it) libraries. Any idea?
