I'm very new to Linux and Ubuntu, so please be patient with me!

To start with; I'm using an Acer laptop. Logs related to the Network Controller for the commands sudo lshw -class network and lspci listed at the bottom. If there's any other info that needs to be provided, let me know and preferably with instructions as well. I've seen others who have similar, but not the exact same problem. I had a similar thing happening when I first updated to 16.04, but that seems to have been a bug which was fixed in an update.

As stated, the ethernet connection is perfectly fine, and the wi-fi acts as if everything is working, no errors or anything, but it cannot connect to websites at all. I have looked around forums everywhere and tried commands to see if it can find anything, but as far as I can tell there's nothing wrong.

One of the things that seem to (temporarily) work for a lot of people is restarting the network manager through the terminal, but that doesn't do anything at all as far as I can tell. I have restarted the computer several times, and the wireless works fine on other devices I have.

I can't tell what might have caused this, since it happened randomly without warning after having been sitting and using the laptop for a few hours without any problems. When looking at the connection information, the speed is still listed as working.

I'm at a complete loss here, any and all advice appreciated!
