So I'm trying to install Ubuntu on an t100 asus and I can't get to the desktop because it gets stuck on the splash screen. When I say this I mean it goes to black and no command works that I know of so I reboot and try again continuously, occasionally I get to see to the desktop for a split second and it goes to black.

So I'm confused as all hell and I read somewhere that I can delete quick splash and change it to nomodeset so I go into grub delete quick splash and change it to nomodeset, so I get to the desktop screen and it does the verifying install config and then it goes to a screen with a bunch of oks at the left and messages on the right. The last ok message was started network manager.

So please is there anything I can do ?

P.S sorry for formatting im on mobile

  • Sounds like kernel panic, meaning hardware incompatibility, but some people seem to have managed getting it installed, although they mentioned custom kernels. See jfwhome.com/2016/01/04/… – chaskes Jan 7 '17 at 22:50
