Whenever I try to install Steam using sudo apt-get install steam, I get

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gcc-6-multilib : Depends: libc6-dev-i386 (>= 2.11) but it is not going to be installed
libc6-dev-x32 : Depends: libc6-dev-i386 (= 2.24-3ubuntu2) but it is not going to be installed
steam:i386 : Depends: libstdc++6:i386 (>= 4.3) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libx11-6:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libudev1:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libxinerama1:i386 but it is not going to be installed
              Depends: libtxc-dxtn0:i386
Depends: libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgpg-error0:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: libxss1:i386 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

I tried to do sudo apt-get -f install, and now I keep getting this error

You also have a bunch of unresolved package dependencies unrelated to steam. You should start by removing libc6-dev-amd64:i386 which is utterly wrong and pointless to have on a 64-bit installation (use lib6-dev:amd64 instead if you don't have it already). Run sudo dpkg --purge libc6-dev-amd64:i386 and update the output of sudo apt-get install -f in your question so we can see the remaining issues. – David Foerster Jan 2 '17 at 23:08
