On Ubuntu 16.04, the linux swap does not mount automatically. The Mount Options is disable.

My fstab:

$ cat /etc/fstab

After mounting manually,

$ swapon --show
NAME      TYPE      SIZE USED PRIO
/dev/dm-1 partition 7.5G   0B   -1

  • swapon --show shows nothing before mounting. After manual mounting, it shows sth.

  • Ive never used LVM, but is /dev/mapper/isw_cbdddhahdj_Volume1p1, the same as /dev/dm-1? I would have expected line in fstab along the lines of /dev/dm-1 none swap sw 0 0
