Well since you just installed Ubuntu 16.04 you won't loose anything by installing it again. I'd suggest that and paying close attention to any messages during installation. If nothing new is discovered I would install 14.04 which has a longer period of testing and debugging.

It would also be helpful if you listed your Desktop / Laptop make, model, configuration, etc. Other people using the same hardware might provide insight based on their experience.

  • Thanks. My laptop is msi cx62 6qd Core i5. Actually, at the beginning of installation, it said "unknown chipset error". So, I added nomodeset in boot option. Is it related with it? Worst is I can't even connect to wifi. – Aung Ko Ko Aug 26 '16 at 4:36
  • There are lots of google results with your sky lake processor and ubuntu. This link for [skylake] (askubuntu.com/questions/694453/…) might help you. – WinEunuuchs2Unix Aug 26 '16 at 5:05
