I have just come back onto my laptop to find that Ubuntu isn't loading the Unity interface, only the desktop icons. (Probably a bad update or something)

One of my desktop icons is Netbeans - which I was able to open and click an option in Netbeans to open a browser to make this post.

I do not need any old data (as I have backed it up). All I want to do is now re-install Ubuntu without a LiveCD or USB iso image.

Now I have a browser open, how can I wipe the drive and re-install Ubuntu?

:)

I could install via the internet I guess but hitting SHIFT through the boot process doesn't give me the option to re-install.

-- UPDATE --

I am currently downloading the ISO file, not sure how that will help as I dont know how to mount that ISO from the boot loader
