  • What if you run it from a terminal? unity-tweak-tool? – Byte Commander Jul 28 '15 at 9:48

Install the necessary packages. From terminal:

sudo apt-get install unity-webapps-common

Now try to execute tweak tool.

sudo unity-tweak-tool

You are probably missing a dependency. You could either install the missing package, or you could try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it again to make sure that you have all of the necessary packages. Please let me know if this works...

  • 'sudo apt-get com.canonical.unity.webapps' doesn't work. – empedokles Jul 28 '15 at 9:51
  • @empedokles that's because it's found in the unity-webapps-service package. There already is an answer for this here askubuntu.com/questions/449943/… – mchid Jul 28 '15 at 10:18

@empedokles for future reference, you can install sudo apt-get install apt-file and then sudo apt-file update and when you need to find the package that contains a file, you can run like this example: apt-file search com.canonical.unity.webapps and it will list the packages that supply this file. – mchid Jul 28 '15 at 10:20
