This is the error I'm getting. I'm assuming that it's because the driver is for a previous version of Ubuntu, but unfortunately it's the newest version of the driver I can find. The driver is for my Realtek WiFi card, RTL8273AE-BT.

You should use newest (!! more recent, than your Ubuntu version) kernel with included driver: http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/RTL8723AE.html - found in Linux kernels: 3.8–3.19, 4.0-rc+HEAD

For example - http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.19-vivid/

If you experience slow speed, disable WMM in router: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2267816&page=3

updated to kernal 3.19 and then had to set modprobe to auto load on start using the command ~$ sudo nano /etc/modules and adding rtl8723ae to the list. hopfully this helps anyone else who had issues with this wifi device.
