I have Windows 7 and the wireless is functional. Can anyone help me ?

Here is a list of commands and their result above

sudo lshw -c network
sudo rfkill list
lspci -nn

Result lshw :

  • Ok, i found a way to make it works. I don`t know why, but here the link to the answer : ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2122379 In the post, the author says that kUbuntu 12.04 uses a newer firmware than kUbuntu 12.10. You need to download a new firmware (wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/…) and you del or rename the original file and replaces it with the one into the tarball in /lib/firmware. Then run these commands and everything will work : sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi sudo modprobe iwlwifi Apr 6, 2013 at 17:51

Answer taken from Ubuntu forums

The problem is the firmware in kUbuntu 12.10. In the linked post, the author says that kUbuntu 12.04 uses a newer firmware for iwlwifi. To resolve the problem, you download the firmware for kUbuntu 12.04 at wireless.kernel.org. You should delete or rename the actual file (iwlwifi-1000-5.ucode) and replace it with the one into the tarball in /lib/firmware/.

Then, run these commands and everything will work :

sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi
sudo modprobe iwlwifi
