I use LXDE and wanted to play around a little with the digital clock widget so that it simply displays the day of the week as a number.

I am based in Israel where the week starts on a Sunday.

So it would be most logical that Sunday were '1' (in Hebrew, Sunday is called 'Yom Rishon' which literally means 'the first day', and subesquent days are numbered ordinarily — Friday is 'Yom Hashishi' (the sixth day)).

The man documentation for the date command includes

%w day of week (0..6); 0 is Sunday

And

%u day of week (1..7); 1 is Monday

I get that this is a very marginal use case, but perhaps there are some other commands or workarounds which I can use?

Thank you!
