Initial question

it seems with upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04 something with the snapd was broken. If I install and execute any snap package, i get the following error:

$ snap --version
snap    2.44.3+20.04
snapd   2.44.3+20.04
series  16
ubuntu  20.04
kernel  5.4.0-29-generic

$ mailspring
fopen /sys/fs/cgroup/devices/snap.mailspring.mailspring/cgroup.procs failed: Permission denied

$ htop
cannot perform operation: mount --rbind /var/lib/dhcp /tmp/snap.rootfs_mVUnzd//var/lib/dhcp: Permission denied

Any ideas?

  • might be a symlink issue see askubuntu.com/questions/978639/… - see also the bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1620771 (won't fix ) ... Jan 8, 2022 at 8:46
