I have installed the latest version of Xubuntu on my machine. I would like to make it into regular Ubuntu without installing it over. Is it possible?

Also, after this has been done and Ubuntu is the default, how can I go back to Xubuntu without losing anything?

Very very bad idea +Kiabbo . It will mess up a lot of things. I would recommend dual boot if you want to switch. Or install XFCE over Ubuntu through Synaptic Package Manager and choose while logging in. – Dilip May 16 at 14:34

Does this answer your question? Can my xubuntu installation be converted to standard Ubuntu? – karel May 17 at 5:01
