Hello everyone and thank you for the warm welcome to the community.

In a different discussion the question of changing the nextcloud data directory to another drive was answered. However, after reading the discussion I was still wondering if changing the directory will automatically cause all of the data on the "old" drive to be transferred to the new drive so that it is ready to use as regular cloud storage.

I am asking because my current nextcloud external hard drive (using snap, running on raspberry pi) is running out of space and I wish to transfer all of the data to another, larger external drive that I have already bought. Of course I do not only want to transfer the data but I want to use it immediately in the cloud.

Does this work by simply changing directory or is there sth else to consider/do?

Thanks for your help!
