I am installing openbox in Ubuntu 18.04.4, using xfce as the desktop envirionment and tint2 to show a taskbar with multiple windows enabled.

When working properly, I can click on a desktop icon box in the tint2 taskbar and that desktop will appear on my screen. If I click on a different taskbar desktop icon box, a new desktop shows up on my screen.

In my current installation, when I click on a desktop icon box in the taskbar, the new desktop shows up, but the images from the desktop that I am leaving do not get erased from my screen. If I click on yet a different desktop icon box in the taskbar, the next desktop comes up, but the images from both the previous desktops remain.

In addition, when I have a clear screen with a window in it, if I move the window, the perimeter image of the window appears as I move the window, but the perimeter images do not erase.

How can I fix openbox so that the screens update properly?
