I have a NetGear WNDA3100v3 on my desktop. It shows up when I run lsusb, but when I run sudo lshw -c network the only entry is my ethernet connection, nothing about the usb adapter.

I tried the solution at Adapter not showing up on Ubuntu (Netgear A6120) and at https://forum.level1techs.com/t/solved-netgear-6210-wifi-adapter-not-installing/132183/10

but that doesn't work and shows several errors such as:

make[1]: *** [Makefile.6:725: install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/sprout/Netgear-A6210/os/linux'
make: *** [Makefile:76: install] Error 2
