I am beginner in Linux world. I want to get rid of Windows ecosystem completely. So, I want to install Ubuntu or a flavour of Ubuntu on my Asus X540B (Bios: X540UB.303, I will include my laptop specification at the bottom). However, I am facing some problem. I have tried to install Ubuntu, Ubuntu Mate and Xubuntu. However, I have faced several issues. First issue was when I was trying to boot into Ubuntu (or any other flavour of Ubuntu), it struck in a black terminal screen showing something like "pcie port error" (or similar). After googling I found a fix, adding boot parameter pci=nomsi solved the issue. However, next issue I faced was after installation. My lapton became slow as hell, even Xubuntu seemed slower than windows 10. I faced huge input lag while moving the cursor; and application opening or internet surfing, it was nightmare.

Can anyone please tell me what was the problem and what is the fix for this? Can anyone suggest me any tutorial?
