I'm running lubuntu 19.10

Long Story short. My home filesystem in an older from debian then bionic and now for 19.10.

Because the hostname was always different, I have 3 different MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE.

xauth list
Debian/unix:0  MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1  b9fcb549285f455bfe313e3fcf14bf39
Bionic/unix:0  MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1  602391167028c33e1ffcbedf82cd6257
My current hostname/unix:0  MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1  34e2b0edfc86af1b05cd09fba1487efc

I found a command, but I'm not sure if it is save.

xauth list | cut -f1 -d\  | xargs -i xauth remove {}
  • with grep -v My current hostname in the commad, I removed the 2 other magic cookies certainly. – nobody Mar 8 at 9:56
