so i have laptop lenovo G40-80 with ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, it cant connect wifi without wifi wireless usb adapter, i've used this solution

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hanipouspilot/ideapad-laptop
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ideapad-laptop-dkms

and

sudo apt install bcmwl-kernel-source

but it seems had not change, and it still cant connect wifi without wifi wireless usb adapter

  • If you did some homework & worked out your wifi device chipset (help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessTroubleShootingGuide), you could have provided the detail that made you think the steps you did would have helped as currently there no reasoning link. Also if you restarted the kernel that detail is missing too. That PPA doesn't support 18.04/bionic anyway - so you should have received error message in the first steps you neglected to notice/mention. – guiverc Feb 14 at 3:57
