I am trying to install Lubuntu 19.10 to a new machine. I want to use a separate boot-partition and a luks-encrypted lvm partition containing separate volumes for /root and /home. But after preparing partitions and starting the installer, the volumes inside luks are not accessible/visible inside the partition manager. What I am doing wrong?

edit:

sudo cryptsetup luksFormat --hash=sha512 --key-size=512 /dev/sda2
sudo cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda2 root_crypt
sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/mapper/root_crypt

same for /home, which is on another disk. i figured out if i use lvm the /dev/mapper/* is available, but i dont want to use lvm. my previous lubuntu was running without lvm but i had to do everything by hand after installation. now i have to install a new pc and wonder if it can be done during installation itself.
