I have a computer that I am using as my combined Kodi Frontend and Mythtv backend. I have noted that playing streaming content from Kodi works well. Playing recorded content from Mythtv (OTA recorded TV shows) is choppy and stutters. However, I can play the same content from a different front end that connects to Mythtv on this computer without issue. I want to know if my setup can be optimized or should I look at getting something newer? I'll be the first to admit the computer I have is rather old even for use with Linux. It has 1GB of RAM

It is my understanding that there are two components involved, the X11 driver and the kernel module/driver.

I'm sure there is more info needed that I haven't listed here. Thanks for you input!
