I am having problems with my keyboard. I cannot determine if it is a hardware problem as I haven't checked whether the issue exists in windows (I dual boot but haven't used windows in a while).

Some keys of my keyboard take time to work (like down, (, 9, 2, l, etc.). I'd often have to press hard or 25 times until they start to function. Sometimes, when I turn on my laptop and use it, I never have any problems. Other times, it can be very bad in that at the onset of log-in, I can't type some characters of my password and it continues as I use my laptop for coding.

I want to try to reinstall my driver using sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-all.

However, I get the message: The following packages have unmet dependencies: xserver-xorg-input-all : Depends: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Is it safe to install xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse?

Help appreciated.
