Lubuntu - Openbox installed on Lubuntu 18.04.3 but cannot get a separate session at login. To install Openbox I run: sudo apt install openbox obconf obmenu and it completed succssfully. I restarted the computer, but there is no login session for Openbox just my usual login to LXDE. I expected to login to Openbox and continue from there with the setup.

lubuntu-desktop already pulls in openbox & obconf (packages.ubuntu.com/bionic-updates/lubuntu-desktop) and on my unaltered Lubuntu 18.04.3 install I can login via openbox by selecting when I login. I can't see what difference you adding obmenu (packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/obmenu) would do, but how altered is your base Lubuntu system? – guiverc Oct 6 at 0:11
  • guiverc, Thank you very much for taking the time to help. Yes, my base Lubuntu was altered following some advice. I plan to reinstall Lubuntu 18.04.3, and would appreciate it very much if you can share anything you did at the install time for this purpose. Thank you -itap – itap Oct 6 at 19:29
