I have a strange issue with my wireless network. My laptop has two wireless interfaces. So I set up the two interfaces in "/etc/netplan/50-cloud-init.yaml" like this:

network:
    ethernets:
      enp7s0:
        dhcp4: no
        addresses:
          - 192.168.134.103/24
        gateway4: 192.168.134.100
        nameservers:
          addresses: [8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4]
    wifis:
      wlp8s0:
        dhcp4: no
        addresses:
          -10.31.71.146/24
        gateway4: 10.31.71.254
        access-points:
          "feiw_M":
            auth:
              key-management: none

      wlx0013ef800552:
        dhcp4: no
        addresses:
          -10.31.71.145/24
        gateway4: 10.31.71.254
        access-points:
          "feiw_M":
            auth:
              key-management: none
    version: 2

The first wireless interface is working fine, but the second don't get IP.

What I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

The output of networkctl is:

IDX LINK TYPE OPERATIONAL SETUP 1 lo loopback carrier unmanaged 2 enp7s0 ether routable configured 3 wlx0013ef800552 wlan dormant configuring 4 wlp8s0 wlan routable configuring

The iwconfig wlx0013ef800552 is:

wlx0013ef800552 unassociated ESSID:"" Nickname:"" Mode:Managed Frequency=2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated Sensitivity:0/0 Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Power Management:off Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

  • What is the state of the interface? E.g. what is the output of networkctl, and networkctl status wlx0013ef800552, and of iwconfig wlx0013ef800552. – slangasek Sep 11 at 18:45
