I've been struggling with this for a while. Constraints: Using Ubuntu 18.04 setup maas and on the same box setup virsh so Maas can leverage it's self as a Pod.

What I've tied. I've tried about everything I can think of. I've spent lots of time trying to figure out netplan and have only gotten more frustrated. setup bridged network with bridged mode, static routes, I've tried desktop GUI for network management because i'm still new to netplan(https://netplan.io/examples). I've tried this https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/create-kvm-pods-with-maas#3 with no success.

Hardware setup and environment. HP server with 2 nic. Eth0 is setup with a dedicated IP(for pxe) and VLAN(management netowrk to access maas) PXE successfuly works with the non vlan'd IP.

Eth1 is setup for DMZ network and I'm using it for Openstack in the future.

What I want to do is setup maas to use it's self as a pod so I can put JUJU and maas on the same box but for whatever reason virsh vm's don't get pxe when on the same box as maas but virsh vm's get PXE if setup on a different node, they pxe from maas.

I'm looking for any pointers and feedback.

Thank you for your time.
