On my Dell Precision 7530, I am running the following Ubuntu version:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic

My problem is that after selecting default option on grub which is to login using kernel 5.0.0-27-generic, I see blank screen instead of login screen. Interesting thing though is that if I put my laptop to sleep and then wake it up, then I can see login screen and can get into Ubuntu. I did install Ubuntu not that long time ago and I am quite sure that I did not experience this problem in the beginning. Could it be any recent update?

I googled a bit and found some recommended solutions such as uncomment WaylandEnable in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf or install the newest NVidia driver (I have NVidia P2000). However none of that worked for me.

I found a workaround to login using different kernel - 4.18.0-25-generic but I was wondering if there is any solution that allow me to continue to use kernel 5.0 or at least better understanding what is going on wrong at startup.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
