I placed a python task in etc/crontab to run every minute:

* * * * *   myuser   python3 /home/myuser/Ares/Check_to_Restore.py >> /home/myuser/Check_log.txt

The script is a wrapper that calls other python scripts. I can see their results and thus I know that they are running, but even while they are running I cannot see them by using ps -a

Why is that? Are scripts run by crontab (and scripts that are called by those scripts, etc.) are invisible to ps? Is there a way to change it, or perhaps an alternative to ps that will reveal these processes and their PIDs?

    Try pstree | grep Check_to to see them running – WinEunuuchs2Unix Aug 15 '19 at 15:01
