I am using an old computer running Ubuntu Server 18.04 as an all around server. It is hosting a Plex server, a small website and is used as a home NAS. I am using SMB shares when using it as a home NAS. If I want to access them files from outside the network what is better/more secure, do I port forward the SMB shares or do I use something like FTP or is there a better option that I don't know about. Thanks
