We're using MAAS to re-commission a box, which contains some old disks that encountered some issues in the past. Our expectation is that the affected sectors have been blacklisted by the drives and that these are therefore more or less sane.

MAAS' smartctl-short and smartctl-validate scripts fail on these disks.
However, there are some reports that the smartctl tests run by MAAS can fail on "historical" issues.

What we'd like to know so we can make a proper assessment is what smartctl params are used by MAAS (and it looks like we're not the only ones). This isn't clear from the MAAS documentation.
