When using Texstudio, normally, on my old Windows System, if I attempt to use a new package, the system tries to download and install it by itself. On Xubuntu, this process is not automatic. Any suggestion on how to make it automatic, transparent and efficient?

  • As far as I know, that was a feature that Texstudio incorporated. I mean, it's nice to have, but not a feature that is "required" to be a LaTeX user interface. You can see if something like kile has it built-in, but I doubt it. At the end of the day, Windows and Ubuntu targets different users so many things that is done seamlessly by Windows is not under Ubuntu (or Linux in general). – Ray May 16 at 8:34
