I am wondering as to how I can get my PC to boot into a custom GUI application, without showing the desktop (it's fine if the GUI overlays the desktop screen). I am using gdm3 as my display manager and the xubuntu desktop environment.

I have currently configured my GUI application as a systemd unit that is enabled on boot, but the GUI shows up a few seconds after the desktop background is shown on the screen. Ideally, I'd like the first visible screen on my PC after booting to be my GUI application.
