Today when I booted my laptop (Xubuntu 18.04) I received the following dialogue which I have never seen before;

Update standard folders to current language?

You have logged in in a new language. You can automatically update the names of some standard folders in your home folder to match this language. The update would change the following folders:

Current folder name: New folder name:

/home/USER /home/USER/Documents

Note that existing content will not be moved.

I said NO and continued only to find my Documents folder and all its contents no longer exists.

Does anyone know what might have happened?

I have a backup but still will have lost a couple of files I worked on last night, which would be rather annoying.

Never mind... Turns out I'd somehow managed to move my Documents folder into my Downloads folder without noticing (Probably the late night!)
