Display AMD Radeon™ R5 M430 driver install failure

./amdgpu-install

Install failed; black screen on reboot!

The last thing said in terminal; should this install fail; revert to old initrd.img-4.15.0-43-generic.old-dkms. which is not explained.

These drivers are not ready for prime time! amdgpu-pro-18.30-641594.tar.xz

AMD Radeon™ R5 M430

I did a re-install then un-install to recover my initrd.img-4.15.0-43-generic

Thought this sequence of steps is important;

Since my initrd.img-4.15.0-43-generic was black screen

Ubuntu advanced options selected initrd.img-4.15.0-42-generic which booted fine - did terminal for the uninstall re-installs here.

So the system has changed - during boot up; the loading instructions no longer appear - the black screen flashes several times then pops into the sign in screen. no amdgpu driver is installed.

Help Installing AMD GPU driver in Ubuntu 18.04 instructions on getting the install to work which did not work for me.

sudo apt install --reinstall uname -r -at the bottom of question 1068344. uname -r, --kernel-release print the kernel release

this line apparently reverts the install to the OLD initrd.img-4.15.0-43-generic

Requires quotes around the uname -r instruction which I've yet to find - no time to look. Since 18.50 installed; the point is moot.

Going to try this one next amdgpu-pro-18.50-708488-ubuntu-18.04.tar.xz

AMD Radeon™ R5 M430 in my case.

tried this one amdgpu-pro-18.50-708488-ubuntu-18.04.tar.xz

installed correctly a little jiggly? This refers to the browser screen as I scroll through the pages, reminiscent of the low acceleration drivers.

Just so you know; and the reason I installed these drivers; AMD came up with a rendering engine for Blender using their hardware. So I'm excited to install it to see what it does.
