I've recently been having problems with my High DPI (3840x2160) monitor and scaling apps on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on Gnome. I've set scaling to 200% as you see in the photos below, but it doesn't seem to apply to some apps? Like Audacity, in the sample below. Can anybody help me with this? I've looked everywhere for a Solution but haven't been able to find one.

Are the affected apps from snaps? Snap apps do not respect your theme, which can create problems on hi dpi displays. I have a Dell 9730 and many snap apps are unusable because of this. I have read developer discussions (sorry I can't provide any links, it was a while ago) which shows they are aware of the problem and are working on it. There may even be improvements in 18.10, I don't know, I haven't tried. The workaround for me is to avoid snaps altogether and install from a PPA, there's usually one available. – B.Tanner Jan 5 at 10:53
