I have followed many tutorials on installing VNC server on my lubuntu 18.04 but unfortunately nothing worked, client was not able to connect.

Recently I have followed this tutorial: https://linuxconfig.org/vnc-server-on-ubuntu-18-04-bionic-beaver-linux

I did everything like they mentioned and at the end I wasn't able to connect to the server.

My suspicion is that the VNC server which listens to port 5901 only accepts 0.0.0.0:5901 whereas in tutorial, *:5901 was written. How can I make my VNC server to listen all possible addresses?

Also, how can I connect correctly to my server? On a terminal of my lubuntu I have tinker@ELAR-Systems, should I connect like tinker@IP_ADDRESS:5901?

A server configured to listen on 0.0.0.0 will listen to all addresses on the system. Saying I wasn't able to connect to the server is like asking how long is a piece of string, provide more concise details of the problems if you expect to get help. First though check that you have opened the port in your firewall for incoming traffic. – nobody special Dec 21 '18 at 12:46
