I am running Lubuntu 18.1 but have been experimenting with Tiny Core Linux. After running Tiny Core, I tried to boot Lubuntu as normal, but the machine tells me that there is no OS installed.

I tried to run Boot Repair (see above pastebin) but it said I needed to run it in UEFI rather than legacy mode. I went into the BIOS and switched off legacy mode, but after doing that I cannot boot from a USB.

What else should I try? Will I have to reinstall Lubuntu?

  • Your USB needs to be created for UEFI boot in order to boot with Legacy turned off. Some USB creators do this automatically, others (like Rufus, for example) you need to explicitly choose UEFI. – Lewis Smith Nov 2 '18 at 15:06
