I want to get some files from my Desktop PC to my Laptop. My desktop computer has Windows 7 and my laptop has Ubuntu 18.04. How can I connect those to PCs through wired connection??

  • @user68186 I want to connect using ethernet cables. – Gayashan Wickramaarachchi Nov 1 '18 at 16:32
  • Do you have a router connected to Cable/DSL/DialUp modem that connects to the Internet? If not please edit your question above and include details of your connection setup. If you don't know how to setup a wired Local Area Network (LAN) then that is not a problem related to Ubuntu. If you just want to connect the two computers with a cable see askubuntu.com/questions/821477/… – user68186 Nov 1 '18 at 17:06
  • Ethernet cables are considered the local network. – Terrance Nov 1 '18 at 17:29

  • Please edit your question above and write more about your specific LAN setup including what kind of modem and router you have, if you have setup your router by connecting it to a computer, and following the router manufacturer's instructions. If you had trouble, ask one question at a time about one problem. – user68186 Nov 1 '18 at 19:21
