I'm new to Linux and I installed Xubuntu just today (after I tried other distros). I have a problem with my microphone (happened with the other distros too, if this can help): I hear a very annoying static noise when recording. I'm dual booting with Windows and it's not a microphone problem, because it works perfectly on Windows. The problem IS NOT background noise, just a very annoying disturbance. I already tried to add load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0 to Pulse Audio and honestly it made things worse. I also already put the auto noise cancellation. Can somebody help? (Side minor question: why does Pulse Audio change my microphone level on his own even if I set a certain level? Can I fix this?)
