I have recently installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 on my laptop. I need to run a model everyday and this process is computationally expensive so that it lasts ~5h.

So while running the model, I want the lid of my laptop to be closed. I therefore installed GNOME Tweaks and selected OFF on the Suspend when laptop lid is closed option under Power.

The issue is that while the process is running, after a few hours, when I re-open the laptop lid I find many Ubuntu windows open as if the mouse has been clicked randomly around..

If I keep the lid open everything is fine.

What is causing such issue? How can I solve it?

I want to run the process with the laptop lid closed. Thanks
