Freshly installed gnome boxes 3.28.1-1 from ubuntu app store and created box with Ubuntu 18.04.

It fails to start and this is the Troubleshooting log

I also am running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I installed a Linux Mint 19 virtual machine from an ISO. Initially it would not start,...just got an error message saying something like "failed to load". I then found that for Ubuntu 18.04 there were additional installation steps that were needed. Also, make sure you install the spice vd-agent as described in the reference below. Now my gnome-boxes VM works super great. http://www.linuxandubuntu.com/home/walkthrough-on-how-to-use-gnome-boxes

You're probably running into this bug. I fixed it by running

sudo adduser <username> kvm

and then rebooting my system.
