I was editing a .docx document in libreoffice and when I saved it, it prompted me to use .odf in order to keep formatting correct. When I agreed the program saved, and then froze, and then crashed. When I tried to load the odf document I got the following error:

Read Error. Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2,30829(row,col).

I tried following steps from someone with a similar problem online but I guess I just don't understand enough about .xml stuff to fix this or recover the hour I spent in this document. Is there anything I can do to get my work back or should I just avoid using LibreOffice from now on?

Is the original .docx still there? It might have autosaved some or all of your changes to it. – Chai T. Rex Sep 27 '18 at 1:44
  • Unfortunately, no, the .docx is still the original file before I started working on it. – Gerardicus Sep 27 '18 at 16:17
