Trying to run conjure-up with the "OpenStack with NovaLXD" spell. As soon as I make that choice, the .cache/conjure-up/conjure-up.log shows a lot of entries like this (specifically, the "permission denied" line) :

2018-09-06 15:52:30,606 [DEBUG] conjure-up/openstack-novalxd - provider.py:372 - LXD query cmd: /snap/bin/lxc query --wait /1.0/networks

2018-09-06 15:52:30,668 [ERROR] conjure-up/openstack-novalxd - provider.py:378 - **LXD Parse error: stdout:

*****2018-09-06 15:52:30,668 [ERROR] conjure-up/openstack-novalxd - provider.py:379 - LXD Parse error: stderr: Error: Get http://unix.socket/1.0: dial unix /var/snap/lxd/common/lxd/unix.socket: connect: permission denied*******

I already did this:

sudo usermod -a -G lxd

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Got around this issue by 1) Getting new RAM 2) Getting new SSD 3) installing Ubuntu 16.04 instead of 18. 4) doing the snap install of lxd and then doing the migrate. Hopefully these datapoints can help someone out. – Scott Oct 25 '18 at 18:35
